Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is a third-person shooter video game developed by SCE Bend Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game follows the story of Gabe Logan, a government agent working for an organization known as the Agency, as he tries to stop a terrorist organization called Red Section from acquiring a deadly virus and unleashing it on the world.

The game begins with Gabe and his partner Lian Xing being sent to Alaska to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak. During their investigation, they discover that Red Section is behind the outbreak and is planning to acquire the virus and use it as a biological weapon. Gabe and Lian are then sent on a mission to various locations around the world, including a military base in Costa Rica and a research facility in Uzbekistan, to stop Red Section from acquiring the virus and its components.

Gameplay is a combination of stealth and action. Players can choose to take a more stealthy approach and sneak around enemies, or they can engage in gunfights and use a variety of weapons and gadgets to take out their enemies. The game also features a cover system, allowing players to take cover behind objects and peek out to shoot at enemies.

In addition to the main story mode, the game also features a multiplayer mode that allows up to eight players to compete against each other in various game modes, including deathmatch and capture the flag.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror was praised by critics for its engaging story, solid gameplay mechanics, and impressive graphics for a handheld system. The game also received positive reviews for its multiplayer mode, which was seen as a welcome addition to the series.

However, the game was also criticized for its sometimes frustrating difficulty level and the occasional bugs and glitches that could hinder gameplay. Some critics also felt that the game did not innovate enough on the gameplay mechanics of previous games in the series.
